Galactic Atom is my
YouTube ID. On a galactic scale, I am a mere
short-lived atom (or less), and I live in a
galaxy which itself is a mere spec among
billions of galaxies. But I am enormously
priviledged to be here at all, to be able to
wonder in awe at the astounding magnitude
and beauty of the universe of which I am
part, and at the amazing complexity and
fascination of the little species of which I
am a member.
The web has been a godsend as far as I am
concerned (if an atheist is allowed to say
"godsend"!) - an ever-open window to new
knowledge, friends and fun; so I thought I'd
share a few of my little interests and
opinions on the web for anyone who wants to
read them. Click on the links to the right
to see more. The Blogs & Vlogs will
include some, but by no means all, of my
YouTube videos, as well as written articles.
So apart from being a little spec of
life, what am I? Well ... very briefly, I'm
English, but with a partly Scottish,
American and Canadian upbringing. I'm a
History graduate with post-graduate
qualifications in Computing and have spent
my working life in the library and software
industries. Outside of work, my
interests include religion (although I've
never belonged to one), history, heraldry,
monarchy, drawing (although it's been a
while since I've done any), computing,
evolutionary biology and psychology,
writing, walking and chatting over a pint or
two of good English real ale! I think that's
enough to be going on with!
