THE QUEEN'S FLAGS

In the United Kingdom, Queen Elizabeth II's Royal Standard consists of the banner of her Royal coat of arms, i.e. the design from the shield of the arms placed on a flag.

In each of her other realms, Her Majesty flies a personal standard consisting of a banner of that country's coat of arms with her own personal device in the middle. The device is blue, with a crowned letter "E" encircled by a chaplet of roses.

As Head of the Commonwealth, in countries of which she is not also Queen, Her Majesty flies a blue flag bearing only her personal device.
